As a responsible corporate citizen, Mr Naveen Jindal is committed to the upliftment of the under-privileged and determined to do his best for their all-round development. He has been making substantial contributions towards improving their quality of life through sustained development and a plethora of ongoing programs.

Besides being a successful industry leader, Mr Jindal also aims to propel the country's youth to measure up to global educational standards. Establishing O.P. Jindal Schools, O.P Jindal Institutes and the O. P. Jindal Global University is a testimony of his commitment to help India become a knowledge leader.

He has already taken up the task of improving the conditions in villages in and around JSPL's plants, contributing to the development of the surrounding region through a holistic manner. For instance, JSPL has adopted 42 villages around the Raigarh plant. From providing sewage and sanitation facilities, electrification and safe drinking water, building and maintaining roads and parks, to healthcare, women's welfare initiatives, self employment generation and providing educational facilities, he is leaving no stone unturned to serve the society.

Mr Jindal is constantly working towards providing world-class health facilities to communities in the areas JSPL operates in. This includes setting up of charitable clinics and hospitals. A 100-bed multi-specialty O. P. Jindal Hospital & Research Centre in collaboration with Fortis and an ICU unit at the General Hospital have been established at Raigarh. Medical camps, health check-ups and other healthcare seminars are also organized regularly.

Mr Jindal is equally concerned about the environment and is committed towards restoring nature's balance by maintaining a clean and green environment in and around all the plants operated by the company. He has taken many initiatives in this direction like planting of large number of trees, introducing environment friendly technologies, setting up an environmental laboratory in Raigarh etc.

Under his leadership, around 3 million trees have been planted at the Raigarh plant. All JSPL plants lay a lot of stress on greenery by maintaining a clean and green environment.

JSPL uses efficient and environmentally sound technology and continues to develop its environment management systems on an ongoing basis. It is an ISO 14001 certified company, committed to conducting its business safely, ethically and in a responsible manner that protects the natural resources and the environment.

Weeding out corruption, women empowerment, population stabilisation, aiming for a hunger free society and promotion of sports at all levels across India also top his agenda.
